E.K. Bonner has a great passion for the Arts!! He is a professional actor, producer, director, playwright, and singer. He is a native of Longview, Texas. He has worked with and featured many renown actors in his productions. He has been on the stage in many play and film productions playing a wide range of characters. He is also the managing director of Superbad Theater Company based out of San Francisco, CA. One of the productions of this company has had him very busy traveling across the nation with the Remembering James: The Life and Music of James Brown Musical Play Production.
He has worked with and featured in his play productions various TV celebrities such as Brian White, Darren Henson, Countess Vaughn, Pooch Hall, and The Late Tommy Ford; also Gospel & professional singers Beverly Crawford, Virlinda Stanton and Carolyn Traylor. He also has a big heart for youth. He has recently played the character of Curtis in the musical stage play Sister Act, which premiered June 2, 2022.
His desire is to continue to mentor and motivate the youth of today and encourage them to stay on the right path. One way he effectively does this is by directing his Christian dance and Mime group called Dramatic Praise. This group of youth have traveled to many places performing in Dallas, Houston, Louisiana, Kansas, Atlanta and even New York. Currently, he teaches Theater Arts at Foster Middle School in Longview, TX and has been running his Barber & Beauty Salon business for 20 years. He is happily married to his wife Tina Bonner of 15 years and together they have a blended family that consists of 5 children; 3 of those children are miracle triplet boys who were born in 2008. Although doctors said they would not live, as of this year 2022, they are 13 years old! Out of all the hats he wears, his main concern is that God is pleased with his life and that he fulfills his purpose! He knows without a doubt that Only What You Do for Christ Will Last!
FOUNDER OF DP PRODUCTIONS
E.K. Bonner's passion for the Arts led him to found DP Productions in 1999. This venture provided opportunities and outlets for youth to utilize their acting skills in plays that he wrote, produced and directed. E.K.'s production roles include: actor, community theatre director, producer and playwright.
E.K. Bonner is also a pastor who has been in ministry and evangelism for 24 years, while pastoring for 18 of those years. As an entrepreneur (a licensed barber) for 20 years, he has owned and operated Royal Reflections Barber & Beauty Salon part time. He also loves ministering and encouraging his business clients.
